A clay classroom in Oakland that specializes in beginners, with small classes and chill vibes. Waveform offers traditional pottery instruction and beginner classes as well as CLAYBODY, an introspective program with a multi-sensory approach to personal growth.

Waveform has an Equity Fund which provides sliding scale with a focus on BIPOC. Message me to contribute, or utilize the fund for your tuition.



HOW IT WORKS





I have room for three students at a time in the studio. I do one-time classes as well as bundles for people who want more experience on the wheel, and private healing-centered sessions. All classes are 90 minutes.


Clay classes focus on centering on the wheel and creating simple forms. You select glaze colors and I fire what you make, which is ready for pickup 4-6 weeks from your class date. Sign up for a bundle and learn how to trim, which is when we carve clay in a leather hard state to finish the bottom of a thrown vessel.


The CLAYBODY program is a series of 1:1 introspective, experimental sessions that utilize throwing on the wheel as a transformative process of self-compassion, paired with writing, movement and mind-mapping.


Workshops and team-building sessions are priced on a case-by-case basis and can be customized to your organization's needs!

STUDIO POLICIES





COVID - I’m fully vaxxed & boosted, you are as well, please! Classes are masked and in an open, ventilated space. 



Payment - I take cash or check (preferred), or (with additional fee) Venmo (@cxmpdx) or PayPal (@cxmproductions).


Kids - While I focus on adults, I have experience teaching children and welcome youth at Waveform! I work with children 8 and up; for kiddos 12 I ask that their guardian takes the class with them or books with a peer/sibling.


Cancellation Policy - Deposits are non-refundable and there are no refunds on gifted, pre-paid classes.

Equity Fund - Clay is for everyone. Add a $10-20 "tip" to your tuition and contribute to a sliding scale program that allows me to offer significantly reduced rates with a focus on traditionally marginalized folks in our community.
